Dear Socios from Cataluña and from around the world,

Our beloved club is in a state of deep crisis. There can no longer be any doubt in regard to that fact. Furthermore, failing to react accordingly may result in the deepening of that crisis as time goes by. That is why we are reaching out to you so that we may act together towards restoring Barcelona's former glory and rightful status in the world of football.

Although we are not Catalans, the Club’s wellbeing is equally important to us as to you. We are well aware of what is going on at and around the Club on a daily basis. For us, Barça is also 'More than a Club'. Our group includes socios as well as dozens of supporters who regularly travel more than 2000 kilometers by car and plane each year to fulfill their dreams of being a spectator to a game at the Camp Nou. We follow the same media, although we feel that some of them lack objectivity. Our community numbers thousands of people. We disagree on many things linked with FC Barcelona, but there is one thing we agree on: the incompetent management of the Club that we have been witnesses to for years must not be tolerated and must not be allowed to continue.

Today, in September of 2017, let us look at the state of the Club from the perspective of the last 7 years which have passed since the presidential election in 2010. Let us recall the pride we felt upon seeing three of our homegrown players on the podium of the Golden Ball award. Let us remember the times when the world of football looked at us with admiration. Then let us look at the legal and institutional crisis that the club has found itself in recent years and ask ourselves, deep in our hearts: is everything truly in order? The Club is straying from its ideals – those for which it used to be so admired. It was with great sadness that we watched the treatment of Club icons such as Éric Abidal and Johan Cruyff at the hands of the board. The words recently spoken by Xavi, who just like us watches the Club’s life from a certain distance and is worried about the direction the Club has been heading in, worry us as well.

Bearing the above in mind, we would like to express our deep concern over the institutional crisis at the Club. The Board and the President have lost our trust. Because of their actions, for the first time in its 118-years history, the Club has been investigated by the courts and found guilty of tax fraud. We fear that in making some of their decisions, the President and the board have not had the Club’s best interest in mind, but their own. We would also like to see the construction of a new Camp Nou as well as the redevelopment of the areas around it, but the current board has in our view proven itself incapable of handling such a comprehensive and costly operation - one which may keep the Club in crisis for years to come.

The players and coaching staff, on the other hand, continue to have our full support and sympathy as those affected by the trouble that the Club has found itself in – just like us. There are people at the Club who love it deeply, such as Gerard Piqué, Sergi Roberto, Andrés Iniesta, and first and foremost, the greatest Culé of all, Leo Messi. Leo has got our unconditional support and trust. We view the lack of signing a prolongation of his contract as a silent protest against those at the Club’s helm. We trust the Socios to do everything it takes to make sure he is happy at Barcelona, delighting us with his football for years to come.

Dear Socios, we ask you to take charge. Together we can make it happen that the Club is once again run by people who genuinely care for it. Vote for the censure against the current board. Help rescue Barça from the incompetence of the board and get the Club back on top.

Visca el Barça and Visca Catalunya!
