All the other skate parks around the area are dated or unkept , just look at royston skatepark , lundwood skatepark , wardgreen skatepark ect, these parks are unusable due to poor maintenance on ramps such as cracks and chips , glass , and graffiti aswell as having no “flow” and obstacles that are un-approachable making it difficult if not impossible to skate without causing injury aswell as this most parks are too far away from the town centre ,we need somewhere to skate without being treated like criminals by locals and police,  a simple solution would be to build a new skatepark local to the town centre , Locke park would be a PERFECT solution to this and would benefit  more people than you can imagine , if taken in to account what skaters want , for example a flat “street section” aswell as transition ,rails and ledges , a well scoped our location would be opposite the basket ball courts and muggers as there’s plenty of “free space” for a concrete park and is located close to the car park , Cooperative, and local Business Avit Extreme Skateshop , if built this will drag skaters to the park and out of the surrounding town centre , and to avoid damage and vandalism a fence and gate that can be locked and monitored from 8pm when the park shuts would make a large difference.
