Dear Friends and Supporters,
This week, we have delivered our petition to our representative in the GLA, Mr Dismore to pass on to the Mayor of London.
We will hear from the Mayor until the 10th November and we are keeping our fingers crossed that he will do the right thing.
Through the past months, I have communicated with you and updated you on our fight, struggles and hopes that we will keep the waste away from our lives.
Our small committee has leafleted the area, attended meetings with the council, sent out letters and has worked hard to fight the waste putting a lot of our time and money in it.
We have had as much free legal advice as we can get only to find out that we can still fight our cause legally but so far all our requests for donations have not been very successful.
For the most part our requests for any of you that can advise on planning or legal issues has been unsuccessful as well.
Which makes me think that you are willing to live with the waste for the sake of 30 or 50- pounds per household.
Of course that is a personal choice we all have to make and live with and I respect that.
We have 6 weeks to prepare our case from the day the decision is taken and unless we have funds to fight the council within the next week it will not be possible to do so.
In that case I will personally congratulate Barnet Council for the decision to bring the waste here: a ward where according to the Office of National Statistics has no political, financial or social power to fight them so they can do as they like and diminish our quality of life. Well thought choice.
I have been following the matter very closely and once the waste moves in our area our lives will become very difficult and our quality of life will be lost. Be it the parking that will become difficult, the traffic, the danger of the big lorries going up and down an unsuitable road, the air pollution or the smell and vermin. Pick whichever you want.
Personally, I only have my cat so will be moving out of the area asap. Do you have a choice?
Please, think about the above very carefully and if you would like to communicate with us please do so via our email barnetraad@gmail.com.
If you decide to fight the waste with us please donate to:
Paypal:barnetraad@gmail.com or ac no: 21575996 sort code: 404758 quote:Abbots
From now on it is up to you to decide on your quality of life.
Kind regards
Stamo
