Barnard has not, in light of our petition, released any new information or responded in any way. Barnard must be reminded by its valued community members that they have a moral obligation to support the low-income students they’ve welcomed onto campus. You can e-mail Dean of the College Avis Hinkson (ahinkson@barnard.edu) and President of the College Debora Spar (presidentsoffice@barnard.edu) to demand they formally acknowledge the presence of “homeless” and “housing insecure” students on campus, and that they provide stable, subsidized winter housing for all students who request it.
