We said “NO” to Vincent P.

We said “NO” to Vincent P.
Warum ist diese Petition wichtig?
Vincent P. is feared by each and every girl within our city. He has impacted dozens and dozens of girls lives, leaving them with trauma, fear, self deprivation, and the pain of no one ever believing them. This has been our reality since he moved here in 8th grade. He’s a senior now.
It’s a sad sentence to hear whenever you’re told, “Vincent raped/assaulted another girl, again.” Hearing the word, again, is as painful as it is scary. The thought that another family's daughter, niece, cousin, or even sister, will never be the same now.
He is the star athlete, so there is no way such a talented guy could do something so sinister like that to a girl- right?
No. That’s not right, because he has been doing it for years and has always gotten away with it. Vincent P. is a scary man to not only girls, but to students, teachers, and even coaches. His name is known in multiple schools across the his school district, and his name is feared. There are at least a dozen of girls who have tried to report their case to authorities, but we all had the same response given to us.
Boys will just be boys, you know? Well what were you wearing? Well if you were under the influence that’s your fault. If you don’t have video footage or DNA, nothing we can do about that. Why didn’t you scream for help? Why didn’t you report this sooner?
It was my first date ever. I was wearing black leggings, brown fluffy boots, and my favorite blue and white tie-dyed pullover.
I was 14 years old.
Now multiply that one case by a few more dozen girls. It does not matter what I was wearing, and it shouldn’t. Did you ever think about how scary it was for one of the girls- so scary she couldn’t even scream for help or bring herself to stand up against him and report it. What about how disgusting the girl must have felt, so disgusted she cleaned and rubbed her skin so much just to make herself think it never happened.
Now once again, Vincent P. has left another girl scared, and this time also left her hospitalized. This event happened previous to a varsity football game on 10/08/2021. So let it sink in that the football coaches of his team allowed a known and alleged assaulter and rapist play in the game after he changed another girls life.
We can’t play/participate in activities for bad grades but this kind of behavior is allowed because, football.
We are not victims of Vincent P.. We are not check off boxes. We are not a bucket list of his, we are survivors and it’s time for justice.
