The court order for Apple to build a backdoor to open an iPhone at the request of the FBI is a threat to everyone's privacy. We rely on our digital devices and services everyday to communicate with loved ones, send colleagues messages and files, buy goods on stores across the web, and so much more. Our most sensitive data is on our phones and the digital services we use. It needs to be protected. 

Any backdoor the government creates for technology companies puts everyone at risk. Backdoors open up our data to everyone – both the good guys and the bad guys. There's no filter.

Security experts say the information governments collect now for criminal and terrorist surveillance is good. It provides them with who they message, how often they message, when those messages occur, and potentially where the users were when they sent the message. 

We have a right to privacy and we stand with Apple's fight to protect its customers' privacy. Please join us in standing with Apple to protect Americans' right to privacy.
