The US. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management has just approved the use of sonic cannons to map the ocean floor for oil and gas between Florida and Delaware.  These sonic cannons can be up to a 100 times louder than a jet engine and are used to bounce sound waves off the ocean floor.  These sonic cannons pose serious threat to North Atlantic Right Whale population (which stands at a paltry 500) as they use the waters between Florida and Southern Georgia to give birth to their calves.  The intense noise and sonic vibrations from these cannons pose a serious threat to feeding and birthing in those waters for whales and over 138,000 different type's of sealife.  As Scott Kraus, a right whale expert at the John H. Prescott Marine Laboratory in Boston said "No one has been allowed to test anything like this on right whales," Kraus said of the seismic cannons. "(The Obama administration) has authorized a giant experiment on right whales that this country would never allow researchers to do."  Not only is this going to impact thousands of different sea life but we are still persuing bygone means of energy. 

            Fracking has repeatedly been proven to be extremely dangerous and detrimental to our planet's tectonic plates, our atmosphere, our drinking water and the Government is ignorning this.  Mining for Oil in the oceans repeatedly and continuously proves to be detrimental to ocean and land life.  Gas pipelines are exploding across the nation, oil pipelines are bursting and leaking across the nation, water is undrinkable, earthquakes and sinkholes are happening at alarming rates as well as the enourmous amount of methane leaks pouring into our sky.  Every pound of methane sent into our atmosphere is equivalent to 80 pounds of carbon based greenhouse gases. 

          President Obama, you swore and ran on the idea of change, you have lied sir.  You are lying and you continue to lie.  You are continuing the downfall of this nation, you are continuing to allow corporations to decide what is to be done and what is best.  Science does not lie President Obama, your organization and this governement ignores, consistently, what the science tells us all for the sake of profit.  You have children, do you wish to have your children live in a world where they cannot drink water?  Breath the air?  Swim in our oceans because you did not have the backbone enough to stand up against corporations?  Do your duty, sir.  Do what you were sworn into office to do, which is uphold the ideals you were elected for.  Repeal this approval you have given and instead put money towards research for Wind turbines, solar power and tidal energy.
