The President should not act by fiat to declare a National Monument in Idaho’s Boulder-White Clouds.
With no imminent threat facing this land, the President should follow the normal, deliberative course for major land use decisions.
He should respect the role of Congress. And he should honor the strong land management policies already being carried out by his own Federal agencies.
