The teenagers Kiera Wilmot and Ahmed Mohamed share a similar story; they both have been arrested for bringing into/conducting science experiments at their school. They both not only share the passion for science but also the dream to one day work for NASA. While Ahmed Mohamed has been invited by Barack Obama, the President of the United States, to attend the Astronomy Night at the Whitehouse on October 19, an evening when students meet with leaders in science to promote careers in the field, Keira has not received such an invitation. We, the signers of this petition, believe in the excellence of women in science and believe that Kiera Wilmot should receive the same invitation and opportunity.
