Fire Debbie Wasserman Schultz Immediately

Fire Debbie Wasserman Schultz Immediately
The Issue
Debbie Wasserman Schultz has rigged the Democratic primary debate schedule to favor her preferred candidate. As the former co-chair for Hillary Clinton's national campaign in 2008, when there were 26 primary debates scheduled, Mrs. Schultz has not shown any impartiality. The first debate this cycle occurs after voter registration in closed-primary states, leaving millions of eligible voters unable to switch party affiliation, giving the candidate backed by the Democratic base an unfair advantage.
In preparation for the 2016 campaign, she has scheduled only six debates (and only four are scheduled before the Iowa caucuses). It is a clear conflict of interest that the former co-chair of a candidate currently running is the sole decision-maker for this schedule, and by discouraging more debate and discussion within the party, she is stifling the exposure and ideas of lesser-known candidates, lessening expected voter turnout, and weakening the future of our party as a whole.
I strongly urge President Barack Obama to fire Debbie Wasserman Schultz immediately and replace her with a leader who is impartial to any individual campaign, who will listen to the voices of Democratic and Independent voters across this country, and who will agree to expand the primary debate schedule immediately.
