Polluted water from lake Okeechobee caused by big sugar is being diverted into our estuaries on the east and west coasts is causing an unprecedented environmental disaster. On top of the loss of life this affects not only tourism which is a large part of local and state income but also the recreational and commercial fishing industry which is also source of income to many floridians just like thise affected by the highly publicized gulf oil spills impact on the gulf coast of Louisiana.
