Call to Action
The Issue
I, my class, my school, and my community call on you, President Obama, to issue an executive order ending the violent cruelty which innocent animals endure on factory farms. Specifically, Mr. President, agricultural reforms must call for all animals kept and killed for human consumption to be treated humanely. Humane treatment presumes a healthy, family farm environment in which antibiotics are not automatically given. It presumes veterinarian involvement. If factory farms cannot possibly provide such an environment because of the volume of animals they process, then the factory farm should cease to exist. If we’re doing it wrong, and we are, it needs to stop.
View any Mercy for Animals expose', watch it with your family, and then do what needs to be done. Stop the cruelty, because it’s in your power to do so. No one can even stand to witness it. We look away, shield our eyes and cry “No.”
Your executive order combating antibiotic resistant bacteria is incomplete. It's appropriate to go further in protecting ourselves from superbugs, by protecting the innocent livestock that feed us.
The factory farms have got to go, they’re not good for anyone but big business, and big business gets way more help than it should.
Protect the innocent, put an end to the factory farm.
Please sign our petition and pass it on. Thank you.
