Forceful abduction and conversion of Pak Hindu girls continue unabated

Forceful abduction and conversion of Pak Hindu girls continue unabated
The Issue
Introduction: The continuous oppression and abuse of Pakistani Hindus since 1947 includes abduction and forceful conversion of Hindu girls by radical Islamists. This crime has been going on unabated for quite a long time. Recently, there has been a spur in such cases as several political parties and government agencies collude with these militant outfits that also run arms dedicated to such conversion terrorism factories.
Converting a Hindu further serves the purpose of majoritarian rule in Pakistan and helps in oppressing minority Hindu community. Being a marginalised community, both politically and socially, neither media nor any social or political voice is raised against such cases as the parents of the victims run from pillar to post to get even basic assistance.
Objective: With this petition, we appeal United States, United Nations, European Union and Indian government to act on this rampant abduction and conversion practice, and create international pressure on Pakistan government and authorities to keep radical elements under check. We also urge international community to create diplomatic pressure on Pakistan to act on such crime, and if they fail to reign in this terror on fairer sex then economic and financial sanctions must be slapped on the nation, including abolition of all existing free trade agreements and other trade pacts.
Current Scenario:Rinkal Kumari case was a tipping point in such forceful abduction and conversion cases, when she was kidnapped at the behest of the then Pakistani People's Party leader Mian Mitho in Mirpur, Sindh and was forcefully married to Naved Shah against her stated wish. Even after confession about she being forcefully converted and married in Supreme Court, the jury decided in favour of the radical elements clearly showcasing what their intentions are.
Since then cases like that of Puja Gupta, Lata Kumari, AamnaKolhi, Aasha Kumari etc and the latest one being of Joti Kumari (who has been kidnapped from the hostel inside her college in Mehran University premises); Joti is the latest victim who has fallen prey to Mian Mithoo and his goons.
Joti Kumari D/O Ambrat Khatwani was a student of Electrical Engineering final year and was abducted on the September 23rd, 2014 from Larkana City, Sindh province which is ironically represented by Pakistani People's Party president Bilawal Bhutto, but no action has been taken to trace her and find out her whereabouts, the best part is that Pakistani media and Sindhi nationalists who never fail to whine about being ‘secular’ are also silent.
On December 1, 2014, Anjali has been sent to the shelterhome once again while ex-PPP leader Mian Mitho's lawyer, who has been leading campaign to abduct and convert Hindu girls in Sindh, requested to change the jury in the court. It is being feared by the Pakistani Hindu community that new jury may be nothing but a puppet of Islamists like Mian Mitho.
Earlier, court had ruled that Anjali is free to meet her parents and no one was allowed to meet her during her stay in 'Panah' shelterhome which run by human rights activist Majida Rizvi, however, blatantly disobeying the court order her parents were not allowed to meet her on November 24th, on the other hand, Bilawal Bhutto led Pakistani People's party leader was allowed to meet her in shelterhome.
Now, two more Hindu girls, Badal (13 years old) and Mavi (14 years old) see pic, have been abducted, and sold & later forcibly married to old man. Mavi was forced to marry 62 year old man and another Badal was also forced to marry a man older than her in age. Be it police officials, human rights activists, lawyers, religious or political leaders everyone is silent and refusing to act in these cases.
Two more girls Kiran Kumari and Kajal Bheel were also abducted. While Kiran Kumari who was all of 14 years when she was abducted and forcefully married to a Muslim guy, Babar Samon, the girl was later forced to give statement ion court that the marriage was with her consent. However, the court overlooked the fact that the girl was still minor in this case as well and the marriage was obviously null and void, due to pressure by radical groups the court cowed down and fearing backlash and violence issued order against the innocent teenage girl. Another girl Wali Kolhi from Samaro was forcibly abducted and was about to be married off to a Muslim guy when some activists spotted her in court premises and sent her to her parent with the help of authorities after she cried in Hyderabad court that she has been brought here against her wish.
Even top Pakistani Human Rights activist Asma Jehangir is silent about issues concerning Hindu girls and she continues to ignore rampant abduction and forced conversion of Hindu girls, which could be due to pressure or fear of Islamist groups or due to the alms being given to her by government or non-government organisations.
A young engineering student Kamlesh Kuymar and Sindh Human Rights Organisation chairman, Amar Fayaz, have been kidnapped after they participated in a peaceful protest at Karachi Press Club against the cases of forceful abduction and marriage of Hindu girls in Sindh region.
The extremist groups have adopted new policy to abduct Hindu girls first and keep them hiding, during this time they terrorize her and her family. When they resurface after good 5-6 months they are converted and married to a random uneducated Muslim boy. This happens after the girl has been battered and bruised and has subjugated in accepting whatever has been ordered by some terrorist, judge, politician or a radical cleric. In some cases, Hindu girls are married off to men who happen to be septuagenarian and later on the girls are pushed in flesh trade by selling them in Heera Mandi (a famous red light area in Pakistan.)
Our Aim: We aim to bring an end to this heinous and inhuman treatment of girls just because they happen to be from a certain community.
It is high time that the international community asks tough questions as to what happened to its Hindu population over the years, and when was the last census conducted in Pakistan?
If a nation fails to protect its women and colludes with the militant elements to oppress them further and gag and maim them, then the nation must face a collective and stern action from the international community. Debarring such a nation from the international get-togethers and business trade and aid programs is the only solution to fix it, the responsibility rests on Pakistan.
