Banyule Council has progressively increased the permit fee for excess animals over the last three years from $25 annually to $65 annually.

To this point Banyule council-men have not offered a reasonable explanation other than "provision of animal management services" and that neighboring councils charge more. It is worth noting that neighboring councils do not have renewal fees annually and have a once off application for excess animal permits.

Those who already register their pets and pay their annual registration as well incur penalty should their love one venture outside the home we should know why this particular fee continues to escalate each year.

Council need to review this fee and bring the fee down to an acceptable amount or abolish the yearly renewal all together.
