We need to stop Coronavirus in its tracks NOW! In order to do that we need to completely isolate. Many events and businesses are already cancelling, working from home or closing down. Many more will be impacted by social distancing. As an emergency physician I think we should all bite the bullet, go the extra mile and shut down everything as completely as possible to stop this virus from spreading and overwhelming the healthcare system. 

Too many people are worried about working to pay the bills. One of the biggest expenses we worry about is housing. Whether you own or rent you have a large monthly payment that requires you to make much of your income.  We all probably have enough money to cover other necessities in the short term. But housing is a large expense and it is intimidating to consider missing a payment. 

Banks are uniquely positioned to help us out of this problem with minimal loss. I am requesting that all mortgage holders postpone mortgage payments with no penalty for 2-3 months. Temporary relief of our housing expense will allow us to stay home long enough to severely slow the spread of Coronavirus without the worry of missing those payments. This would save lives. They would be heroes and save a lot of mental anguish, lives and a recession which would ultimately hurt them more anyway. 

Please sign this petition with the hopes that they are listening or that the government will require them to do this. We bailed them out once. This time they need to help us.
