Canadians continue to show their support for our petition - and more than 55,000 people have now signed! It would be SO easy for the Bank of Canada to take action on this issue: just add one sentence to the new Principles for Bank Note Design, indicating that future notes will honour Canadian women as well as men. Is it really that difficult to commit to including notable women from Canadian history? Thanks for supporting this petition, and be sure to read some of the "Reasons for signing" that many of you have posted. As Nicole wrote last week, "I believe in equality - in theory and in practice." And from Robert in Toronto: "We should not have to petition for something as basic as gender equality.
