Bank of America liquefied their subsidiary Countrywide and assumed all responsibility and illicit Truth in Lending violations deliberately produced by the same. Home Appraisers were paid by Countrywide to deliberately over appraised the true value of a home to meet the minimum requirements for a mortgage, many of which required a primary mortgage and a secondary mortgage. The majority of the second mortgages were quickly sold to unsuspecting third parties. These same second mortgages are now referred to as "Junk Mortgages". All of the bonus money being awarded to BOA's executives could be used to offset these over appraisals and make one's home truly affordable.
