I remember playing Dark Souls a few years ago and despite it's somewhat shoddy frame-rate in certain areas (*cough* Blighttown), the game's immersive and free-roaming world was one of the most memorable moments of all my years gaming.

Many of the Soul's fans probably haven't had a chance to play the original Dark Souls, and it is a shame. Even if they could play it, due to many people now playing Dark Souls 2 / Bloodborne, the online aspect in many ways is dead.

A remaster of the original Dark Souls for Playstation 4 / Xbox One (Some have also suggested PC), would be a dream come true for many fans out there.
