Love it or hate it, Roland Emmerich's 1998 GODZILLA represent's a very interesting part of the series history. One of the most notable aspects of the film's release was the huge marketing push that hid the Kaiju King's redesign by Patrick Tatopoulos of whom the main character of the film was named after. Obviously, toys are always huge part of any marketing campaign, and the then license holder Trendmasters released a wide variety of excellent toys that I still love to this day, and have become extremely collectable over the years. There were plans for a line of toys based on the animated series that followed the film that sadly never came to be. Since then, there hasn't really been any merchandise using this design of the character...

Fast forward to the present day, and a lot has changed since 1998. This design of Godzilla has since become his own character in the film Godzilla Final Wars, using the name Zilla. He's been featured in the Godzilla Rulers of Earth Comics by IDW, and GODZILLA: Monster Apocalypse novel by Renji Oki. Suffice to say, I think it's time to finally give this kaiju a high quality S.H. Monsterarts figure to put on our shelves, be it as Godzilla (1998), Godzilla the 2nd (The Series), or as Zilla. The purpose of this petition is to show that there is both enough interest to make such a figure a worth while to create from an artistic standpoint, and that there is enough interest to make it profitable as a product. If you would buy this figure, PLEASE sign the petition. This is something I have been wanting for a long time, and I'm sure if enough people come together, we can make it a reality!
