XL Bully Dogs, a breed known for their large size and strength, have been causing concern among communities in Scotland. There have been increasing reports of these dogs being used for illegal dog fighting or intimidating purposes. Not to mention the attacks that have been going recently with XL Bully Dogs being shipped to Scotland ahead of the ban in England.

The Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) has reported a rise in calls related to this breed. This petition seeks to ban the ownership and breeding of XL Bully Dogs in Scotland as a measure to protect both the welfare of these dogs and public safety. It’s ridiculous that the First Minister isn’t doing anything about this just so he can contradict Westminster. We shouldn’t be put at risk because people are breeding dangerous dogs and selling them to dangerous people so they can make money. Out of the 23 people killed by dogs over the last few years over 50% (12) were XL Bully Dogs or strikingly similar breeds. Over the last year 6/10 fatal dog attacks have involved an XL Bully as the perpetrators. They are responsible for 45% of all dog attacks on humans and other dogs. They are huge harm to these other dogs, children, adults and even their owners. The fact these dogs are being shipped in their masses to Scotland is horrifying and something must be done to stop it.

Unfortunately we’re at the point now that if we don’t stop it Scotland will become to new breeding ground for these dogs and more and more will pop up. How many more people have to die before Humza will ban these awful beasts? Please sign now.
