Everyone in New Zealand can apply to sell mint, menthol or tobacco-flavoured vapes to ages 18 and over for a one off 'licence' fee of $600.00.
Why not pay off the mortgage, buy a property, travel!
It's easy and lucrative. The current government supports you. Once you have a market you are set up. If online it just has to be 'wholesale'. Legal drug dealing. The government plays down, and previously denied, any health risks, so people think it is safe. People generally probably know it is addictive but not all the other hazardous toxins inhaled. The government supports the industry with licencing of pretty shops everywhere and is happy to take 15% of each transaction.
The cost? A generation of sick kids.
This petition site has clearly listed the professional medical statements. Vaping is dangerous, a health hazard. Children vaping is simply terrible. The practice is endemic throughout school age children in New Zealand.
(If you have a tobacco habit, the advice is definitely to get off it, and vapes can be available for you, but patches, gum etc may be much safer. The rest of the community support you, but not with vapes in thousands of retail shops and online, which 'big tobacco' and our government state are necessary for you.)
The arguably misnamed Dept of Public Health supports this global multibillion dollar industry, making vapes very visible, available and an easy way to make money for the vape industry, and government coffers until the health costs blow out. VAPO is the main wholsale supplier in NZ. They use US e-vape suppliers and manufacturers in China.
These are large companies currently embedded in NZ, making money out of nicotine and water, with a few nasty ingredients to make it alluring and to pass deep into the lungs.

Listen to the specialists, the secondary school teachers, the deeply worried parents, addicted children and others who want to stop vaping.
Get vapes out of our communities, just in pharmacies, but NOT with the colourful posters advertising them that even pharmacies have now!!
