" A Petition to the New Zealand Government
Dear Dr Verrall and Mr Hipkins
Please accept this petition to you as the Minister of Health and Prime Minister of the New Zealand government.
The petition concerns your fundamental roles including protecting the health of New Zealanders.
Currently 2,655 people have signed this petition requesting a ban on specialty vape shops in New Zealand.
We request that the government restricts vape sales to plain packaging and pharmacy outlet only, whether over the counter or by prescription.
The proposed amendment concerning vaping regulations and the Ministry of Health website content both robustly promote the vaping industry, given the respective negligible conditions required and denial of harm.
The highly visible presence of vape shops in our communities is a signal that the New Zealand government considers vaping is entirely acceptable as a practice. The outlets are also a constant reminder about vaping for those desperately trying to stop.
Yours sincerely
