I am a resident of  animo florence firestone who has developed a deep disdain for vapes. My personal experiences and observations have led me to believe that these devices are not only harmful but also contribute to the degradation of our community's health.

Vaping has become increasingly popular over the years, especially among young people. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in 2020 alone, nearly 20% of high school students reported using e-cigarettes. This is alarming considering that e-cigarettes can contain harmful substances like nicotine which is highly addictive and can harm adolescent brain development.

In addition to this, vaping poses secondhand risks. A study by the University of Southern California found that exposure to secondhand vape aerosols could lead to similar health risks as traditional cigarette smoke.

Los Angeles should be a city where its residents feel safe from such threats. It's time we take action against this growing issue by banning the sale and use of vapes within our city limits.
