From the time Europeans set foot on American land Native Americans have had to endure racism, violence, and hate destroying their existence as we know it. Even now, Native American men and women face high rates of domestic abuse, unresolved crime, and uninvestigated kidnappings.  As seen mostly in sports and schools, Native American culture and tradition are being exploited as a means of advertisement. The usage of these people as a mascot perpetuates cultural appropriation and undermines the humanity of Native Americans. Native Americans have been victims of hate and violence in America for far too long. They are often overlooked because they do not have the numbers to effectively voice their concerns. PEOPLE ARE NOT MASCOTS AND CULTURE IS NOT A COSTUME.
