Goal: to immediately ban the use of glyphosate-based herbicides within all residential and common areas of Stonecrest Village. By signing this petition, you are not only voicing your concern but also supporting a safer environment for us all.

The Stonecrest Village Association is planning on treating landscaping areas (including areas near children's playgrounds and parks) with glyphosate-based herbicides. Glyphosate can spread and make its way into the pool and other common areas via wind drift and can remain in the soil for up to 6 months.  Glyphosate is a toxic substance that has been associated with increased cancer risks and is heavily restricted in many European countries. Up to 170,000 victims have filed lawsuits against Bayer, the manufacturer of Roundup, a glyphosate-based herbicide, claiming that these chemicals have severely impacted their health. In response, Bayer has paid billions of dollars in settlements. Additionally, a  2025 study shows statistically significant dose-related increases in tumor incidences across all tested groups, even at daily exposure levels considered safe by EU standards.

We must act now to safeguard our community, particularly our most vulnerable members—our children. Playground areas, parks, and residential spaces where families gather should be safe havens, not places of risk. We must adopt safer and more sustainable alternatives for maintaining these shared spaces.

Glyphosate is not necessary for effective weed management or landscaping. Other communities have successfully transitioned to non-toxic alternatives and seen positive results without compromising effectiveness. We can follow in their footsteps by implementing safe and organic landscaping methods by manually pulling the grass out and not using toxic chemicals.

Join us in taking a stand against the harmful use of glyphosate in our community. Together, we can protect our children, our environment, and our future. Please sign this petition today to demand a safer, healthier community for everyone.
