Ban The Sun Newspaper

Ban The Sun Newspaper
The Issue
The Sun Newspaper has been at the forefront of controversy for many many years, but has remained in publication. I’m not sure why? A newspaper who targets individuals, uses people’s personal struggles to sensationalise and to sell newspapers.
The recent heartbreaking news of Caroline Flack has just highlighted this even more and what a huge impact the tabloid media can have on a person and the way the media can influence people’s opinions.
This has got to stop.
Liverpool have successfully banned the newspaper following the papers coverage of the Hillsborough Disaster:
’The reasons are clear. After the Hillsborough disaster in 1989 in which 96 Liverpool fans were crushed to death in overcrowding, the Murdoch-owned newspaper printed pages of false claims that not only blamed Liverpool fans for the disaster, but accused them of urinating on police officers and other fans, beating up officers attempting CPR, and pickpocketing the dead. These reports have since all been proven as fabrication.’ - Ben Sledge, July 2018, Theovertake.com
In a world where so many of us are facing daily struggles with mental health, politics is in a mess, natural disasters are on the rise, there is no space for hurtful, slanderous journalism.
Please support me in removing The Sun Newspaper from print and distribution nationally.
