Ban the sales of pets confined to unacceptable conditions in Pet Habitat.

The Issue

Puppies, kittens, and other small animals, many of whom are in critical stages of their lifespan that shape their temperament and behavior later in life are confined to plexiglass cages stacked upon each other, leaving them barely enough room to turn around. They have paper shreds to sleep on, a single toy (if any) to provide them stimulation, and are left in poorly ventilated confinements. Many pets in the store have been found lacking veterinary care they require, and the SPCA have continuously ticketed the location for not providing necessary care. Together we can liberate these animals who have no voice of their own, we can stop the cruel practice of selling pets as a commodity rather than a life companion, and help pet owners purchase or adopt pets that are less likely to develop costly illnesses and behavioral issues due to the lack of interaction and care they've received in their early years. We will approach the Burnaby MP again with the results of the petition and remind them that we still don't condone these conditions in this day and age, and that the lack of response thus far has been completely unacceptable.
