The Port of Portland, operators of the HIllsboro Airport are poisoning our children, our environment and our land by allowing the sale of leaded AV gas at the Hillsboro Airport.

Hillsboro Aiprort is the number one lead polluter in the state and amongst the top fifteen lead polluting airports in the country.  They are responsible for the deposition of upwards of 1500 lbs of lead over our city every year.  Lead that will never disappear and continue to cause health problems, in particular for the most vulnerable populations including young children.

Lead is a neurotoxin, linked to lower IQ, impaired brain development, and mental health issues that will affect children the rest of their lives.  There is no safe amount of lead exposure.

In collusion with the Hillsboro Aero Academy and other leasers they are stalling the transition to unleaded fuel, which is commercially available right now.

To save private plane owners a few bucks they are willing to poison our city and its children.  Every time you see a plane fly overhead it is dropping lead on you.

Protect our children.  Protect our environment.  Protect yourself.

Let them know we won't stand for anymore delays, won't stand for the option of leaded AV gas at the airport.  We want a full ban and we want it now.
