High-caffeine energy drinks are easily accessible and marketed in a way that attracts the younger generation, causing a public health dilemma. Studies have shown that nearly one-third of children aged 10-15 in Ireland consume these drinks regularly, unaware of the potential health risks. The World Health Organization has expressed concerns over the health implications of caffeine-laden energy drinks, particularly for the youth.
Excessive caffeine consumption can lead to increased heart rate, high blood pressure, and even anxiety, which can significantly affect the development and academic performance of young people.
