Ban the Sale of 'Fun Snaps' in Predominant Seaside Areas

The Issue

As a devoted and caring pet owner, I opened my home and heart to a rescue dog, plagued with anxiety and past traumas. Our frequent walks have been marred by the immense fear instilled into her by the sudden explosion sounds of 'fun snaps'. My own heartbreaking moments have been watching my beloved pet cower in fear, and the worry we share to find her immediate sanctuary.

These incendiary devices, sold in joke and trinket shops, are commonly thrown around without consideration of the distress they pose to animals, or the psychological triggers they could be for those with sensitive past experiences related to loud bangs. It's heartbreaking to witness children throwing them without care around terrified animals and people. It's also a valid point that these items, regularly abandoned on pavements, classify as hazardous litter potentially affecting local wildlife.

With all these factors taken into consideration, it is clear there is a dire need for a ban on 'fun snaps'. What may seem like harmless fun to some, can be a source of great terror for others - both animal and human alike. Let's come together to protect the vulnerable amongst us and ensure our public spaces are safe, clean, and enjoyable for everybody. Please sign this petition and show your support for the ban on 'fun snaps'.
