Ban the sale of fireworks to the public

Ban the sale of fireworks to the public
The Issue
Sitting in my lounge on a quiet October evening, having a cup of tea, I am abruptly disturbed by the sound of fireworks exploding outside. It's only the 20th of October 2025—not even close to November 5th, but already it sounds like a war zone. For many, this is more than just an annoyance—it's a distressing situation that needs immediate attention.
Fireworks, though a source of enjoyment for some, often result in chaos and anxiety for others. The lack of regulation means they can be let off year-round, with no regard for the peace and safety of both people and animals. This constant barrage of noise can significantly distress pets, elderly and individuals in general and those living alone, If you wanted to Pop out to the shop you may skip going , .It feels to much of a risk, and not safe and totally not regulated.
You are hemmed in if you do not like them it' feels too risky to go out ,It would be enough if it were one day.But Fireworks are going off before and after.
In response to this ongoing issue, over 50,000 signatures have been collected yearly, pleading with the government to amend this oversight. Yet, the authorities remain indifferent to our concerns, favouring shallow enjoyment over public safety and peace. The Government does already know how Disruptive and Dangerous Fireworks can be they have been challenged time and time again But they put their fingers in their ear when it comes to this topic ,, putting profit for the Firework industry and shallow enjoyment before public safety and this is an ongoing Public Safety concern.
Therefore, it is crucial for us to challenge the status quo. We propose that the sale of fireworks be restricted solely to licensed holders organising public events. This not only ensures a more controlled and responsible use of fireworks but also mitigates the potential risks associated with unregulated public possession.
We call upon the government to introduce lawful regulation, delaying the sale of fireworks in retail outlets until the end of October each year. It's time the authorities listen and act to protect the well-being of the public and elderly and vulnerable also pets from the unchecked chaos that currently prevails.
This is a plea for sanity, for the recognition of fireworks as potential hazards when in untrained hands, and for an atmosphere of peace and safety to be reestablished within our communities. If you agree with this and want to see meaningful change, please sign this petition and share it widely. Let us advocate for a safer and more considerate use of fireworks in our society.
