As a pet lover, I am deeply saddened by the sight of puppies and kittens confined to tiny kennels in shopping malls, their eyes filled with hope for a loving home. These innocent creatures are priced exorbitantly, ranging from $1500 to $5000. If they are not adopted within the first 6 to 8 months of their life, they are deemed "useless" and sent off to unknown shelters where they continue hoping for adoption.

This practice is not only cruel but also goes against the growing trend towards adopting pets from shelters rather than buying them. According to The Humane Society of the United States, about 1.5 million shelter animals are euthanized each year due to lack of space or resources - these include many animals who were once sold in shops (Humane Society). By removing dogs and cats from shopping malls, we can encourage more people to adopt rather than shop for pets.
