Ban the Sale of Cosmetics Tested on Animals

The Issue

Animals have long been used in the testing of cosmetics, a practice that causes unnecessary suffering and harm. In recent years, alternatives to animal testing have arisen, paving the way for a more humane industry. Despite these advances, many products tested on animals still find their way onto store shelves.

This petition seeks to prohibit the sale of cosmetics that have been tested on animals. 11 states across the country, including California, Illinois and New York, have already implemented such laws, recognizing the ethical issues inherent with animal testing. Nevertheless, the practice remains widespread.

According to Cruelty Free International, around 115 million animals are used in laboratory experiments worldwide each year. These animals are subjected to painful procedures, all for the sake of beauty products. This doesn't have to be the case: there are over 7,000 ingredients that have already been proven safe for use in cosmetics.

It is high time we follow the precedent set by the states that have banned the sale of products tested on animals. This isn't just a matter of compassion – it's a step towards more ethical consumer practices. Support our effort to end animal suffering and move towards cruelty-free cosmetics. Sign this petition to urge lawmakers to enact legislation prohibiting the sale of animal-tested cosmetics.
