Animals have long been used in the testing of cosmetics, a practice that causes unnecessary suffering and harm. According to Cruelty Free International, around 115 million animals are used in laboratory experiments worldwide each year. These animals are subjected to painful procedures, all for the sake of beauty products. This doesn't have to be the case: there are over 7,000 ingredients that have already been proven safe for use in cosmetics.

It is high time we follow the precedent set by the states that have banned the sale of products tested on animals.
