Petition Summary:
We call on the UK Government and local authorities to ban the public sale and use of fireworks, restricting them to licensed, organised events only. Fireworks cause widespread distress to animals, vulnerable individuals, and communities, and pose serious safety and environmental risks.

 
Why is this important?
Each year, fireworks result in:

Severe anxiety and injury to pets, farm animals, and wildlife
Distress for people with PTSD, autism, and sensory sensitivities
Noise pollution and environmental damage
Injuries and property damage due to misuse
Despite existing regulations, unpredictable private displays continue to cause harm. A ban on public sales would allow celebrations to continue in a controlled, safe, and inclusive manner.

 
We ask for the following actions:

2. Restrict fireworks to licensed, council-approved events
3.Promote silent or low-noise alternatives
4.Strengthen enforcement and penalties for misuse
