Ban the Sale and Trade of Animals on Craigslist Las Vegas

Ban the Sale and Trade of Animals on Craigslist Las Vegas
The Issue
In Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Clark County, and Henderson it's unlawful to harbor any pet that is not spayed or neutered. Back yard breeders are exploiting this law by using Craigslist to sell their puppies and kittens. By only posting pictures and a phone number they can arrange to meet potential buyers at a public place and sell their pets without any proof of a breeders permit, shot records etc. Although the Pets section is intended for the ''Re-homing" of pets in need, there is no regulation allowing illegal breeders to "re-home" their puppies and kittens for up to $1200ea!
Most People are unaware of the truths of Back Yard Breeding. It is one of the leading causes of shelter overpopulation, contributing to millions of pets being euthanized each year. Most Backyard Breeders are operating solely for profit and have little or no concern for the animals. They force their pets to have multiple litters with no care as to how or where the puppies and kittens will be placed. While Craigslist chooses to turn a blind eye they in turn are contributing to pet overpopulation. The Humane society estimates that approximately 3-4 millions cats and dogs are euthanized each year in the US.
Aside from back yard breeders there are also people who collect "free to a good home" animals off Craigslist and use them for dog fights, snake food, hoarding, torture and many other unspeakable things.
Tell Craigslist to stop helping illegal back yard breeders and help the animals! Pets are not objects to be sold or traded. They are beings with emotions and a soul that depend on us to survive. We don't sell people on Craigslist do we? There are plenty of other things to buy and sell on Craigslist like cars and furniture. We only have ONE voice, use it to make a difference in the lives of animals.
