Ban the production of 'The Carpenter's Son' horror film
The Issue
As a devout Christian, I find it deeply disturbing and disrespectful that a horror film about our beloved Christ is being produced. The movie, titled 'The Carpenter's Son,' mocks and blasphemes one of the most significant figures in Christianity, a faith that is the largest in the world. It is unimaginable and utterly disrespectful to turn sacred religious history into a form of horror entertainment, which undermines our revered beliefs and traditions.
Christianity is a religion that is followed by over 2.3 billion people globally, championing peace, love, and compassion. Misrepresenting Christ in any form can be damaging, not only to us as believers but to the perception of our faith in society. In a time when religious intolerance is already a pressing issue, this movie risks inflaming tensions further, something the global community cannot afford.
Our religious figures should not be reduced to plots for horror movies. Doing so not only shows a lack of respect for our beliefs but for many followers around the world who hold those beliefs dear. If such works continue to proliferate, it can lead to a rise in disrespect and misunderstanding between different cultural and religious groups.
Let us urge the filmmakers to consider the impact their work has on the global Christian community. Creating films that promote understanding and respect among different faiths should be of utmost importance in our diverse world. 'The Carpenter's Son' should not proceed into production, and we need to come together as a community to show our collective disapproval.
Sign this petition to urge the production company to cancel the making of 'The Carpenter's Son' and protect the sanctity of our faith.
