Ban the over-use of single use plastics.

Ban the over-use of single use plastics.
The Issue
The production of single use plastics cost lives. Did you know that single use plastics cause issues such as cancer, respiratory problems, infertility, and hormonal imbalances. Lots of these issues and more stem from coming in contact with plastic/microplastics. While the numbers still aren't exact, it's estimated microplastics claim the lives of around 400,000 to 1,000,000 people every year. We can combat this by reducing or even banning the excessive production of single use plastics. More specifically, we can decrease the amount of plastic bags, plastics water bottles, and more. On top of that, we can increase recycling and encourage others to recycle as well. Luckily for us, in the Massachusetts General Court of The Commonwealth, there is a bill already addressing this issue. Peoples lives and health are being affected by the exposure to plastic. With the rapid growth of the amount of plastic and microplastics, the number of people that die from them will sky rocket accordingly. Also, if we don't fight this issue, it threatens to cause mass amounts of species to die, leading them to the endangered list and maybe even to go extinct. As already stated, in the 194th General Court of MA, there is a bill explaining this issue and how to eliminate it.
