I want the cruel sport of dogfighting to end because it subjects innocent animals to pain, suffering, and often death. These dogs are trained aggressively and forced to fight, resulting in severe injuries or even fatalities. Dogfighting is not only abusive but also illegal in many parts of the world, yet it continues to persist, often in underground networks. Dogs used for fighting are often kept in inhumane conditions, with little food and no veterinary care. They are trained brutally, using methods that promote aggression and ferocity. According to the Humane Society, thousands of people participate in dogfighting in the United States alone, leading to the death of tens of thousands of dogs each year. This so-called "sport" is associated with other forms of criminal activity, including illegal gambling and drug trafficking, posing a threat to community safety. It is time we show compassion and take action against dogfighting. Dogs deserve to live in love and security, not fear and violence.
