Ban the Celebration of Krampus for the Love of Our City

Ban the Celebration of Krampus for the Love of Our City
The Issue
As a devoted spiritual individual and citizen of our city, I am deeply concerned about the celebration of the Krampus in our region. Exodus 20:3-6 states, "You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God". 2 Kings 17:35 emphasizes, "Do not worship any other gods or bow before them or serve them or offer sacrifices to them", and Exodus 20:5 reinforces not to bow down and worship idols because all love should be directed to the LORD. Krampus celebration deeply contradicts these tenets; it is a worship that can potentially inflict a curse on our city!
There are potential negative effects, both psychological and spiritual, associated with the glorification of this beast-like character in our community. Krampus, the horrific demon-goat figure originating from Central European folklore, is traditionally associated with scaring children during the Christmas season. By promoting fear and negative behavior, the celebration is likewise sending a wrong message to our children, contradicting the values we aim to instill.
This petition is not merely to ban a foreign tradition but to protect our cultural, spiritual, and moral values. We urge city officials to take immediate action and enact a prohibition on any Krampus-related festivities in our city. We, the people of this city, choose love, peace, and goodness over fear. Stand with us and sign this petition to ban the celebration of Krampus in our beloved city.
