I have a bit of positive news for you.
As you know the FOI department didn't get back to me within the 20 working days deadline and after a bit of back and forth, the main information commissioner's office has taken on the case.
They will be looking into:
The inspection reports, the Incident reports and the zoo's license conditions from January 1st to Present date.
As the can only take on one case at a time, I've set up a second case which will answer:
1 The full Post-Mortem reports for the five wolves (Odin, Nuna, Minimus, Tiberius, and Maximus).
2 The Veterinary Treatment Logs for the six months leading up to March 25, 2026. This helps verify the "unexplained sepsis" timeline mentioned by campaigners.
3 The Ethical Review documents or minutes from the meeting where the decision to euthanize was finalized.
4 The "Section 10" or "Section 14" Inspection Reports: These are the formal periodical or renewal inspections.
5 The most recent "Special Inspection" report: Local authorities often trigger a special inspection following a major welfare incident or "breakdown in social structure."
6 The Annual Stocklist (Section 9.5): This will show the official recording of the deaths and the categorized "reason for loss."
7 Daily Keeper Logs/Animal Management Records: Specifically requesting entries related to "aggression," "infighting," or "separation" for the wolf enclosure from September 2025 to March 2026.
8 Rehoming/Transfer Assessment Records: Any correspondence between the Trust and the council (or external specialists) regarding the feasibility of relocating the wolves to other sanctuaries.
9 Correspondence between the Council and Wildwood Trust: for all emails, letters, and memos regarding the "wolf pack dynamics" or "euthanasia decision" between January 1, 2026, and the present date.

It's a step in the right direction to hopefully protecting wolves in zoos and wildlife parks up and down the country.
This is the 21st century and lots of things have improved and changed in how to look after animals properly. It's time the zoo licencing act got with the times.
