Hi Everyone,
We are 2 away from an amazing 25,000 strong support. As soon as we hit that milestone, this petition automatically goes to the inboxes of the MP's who are tagged in the bottom.
Unfortunately the Wildwood hasnt responded to my email saying that the results they had sent me, was just a confirmation on their decision of euthanasia rather than actual post mortem results. i have asked for a redacted version of this, but still nothing. If everything adds up then transparency means at least sending an redacted version.
I had submitted a reply back on 21st March to the Freedom Of Information department disagreeing with their decision on releasing certain information due to fear of being sued by the park and apparently 'not enough public interest.' Im expexting a reply by Friday 19th June and if its still the same ill be going to the Information Commisioners office (ICO),
The moment we hit 25,000 signatures, i have emails ready to go to the Daily Mail, Roger Gale and Rosie Duffield. I have been keeping Born Free Foundation and Wolf Watch UK in the loop too and also collecting a list of highly important emails to send to as well.
The zoo licensing act is older than me and i disagree highly that these apex predators are subject to and second to that law. You cannot kill animals for behaving in a way they are supposed to behave. I understand if the injuries are severe enough to euthanise, but in the terms of Camperdown, 3 years ago, wolves showing anxious or unusual behaviour because they've lost a member of their pack, is not a valid reason. Basically thats teaching everyone that if we have a disagreement with our family or our head of household dies, then the only solution is to kill the rest of the family. Wolves are CITES protected animals, and thats what they should be, PROTECTED.
This may be a long battle, but its important that we see it through. Lets keep going.
Share this with everyone you can. We have to AT LEAST change these outdated laws.
