Ban Tax Write-offs for Hollywood Studios and Stop the Cuts (Ahem WarnerBros Discovery)
The Issue
Ever since I could remember, movies offered me a visual conception of my imagination become reality, from watching thrilling films like Pirates of The Caribbean: The Black Pearl to The Dark Knight to The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. However films these days rarely often this escape from reality with studios, such as Disney and Warner Bros Discovery, cutting and mauling what could be great works of films worked hard upon out of fear or simply ignorance to the amount of work and dedication put into such films. Lately it seems though these films that are nearly finished, or are finished even all the way through post production, are being written off for tax breaks. The reason? The way the studios put it: The movies are unreleasable. Movies that had more hype than even the 2023 lineup of films were killed before anyone could actually decide if these films were bad or good. The final straw for me and many it seems was WarnerBros. Discovery's Coyote V Acme, which was set to release in July, 2023 but was cancelled and set to be written off, but saved after the severe backlash from Looney Toones Fans. Simply put, these studios are destroying films, having taking time from the people who worked on them just to never release all the work the actors, and writers, and more put into them. Signing this petition and gaining recognition frm someone with power end this rising trend of tax write-offs from the studios is the only way to save future films with fueled fan hype from this cheap act.
