Fast fashion and particularly SHEIN takes advantage of and abuses child labour, sweatshop workers overall, and the environment. SHEIN's quality absolutely does not make up for the violation of human rights in these sweat shops seeing as the quality is horrible and will only ever end up either flooding and overwhelming already full thrift stores or landfills. It is widely known and has been widely known that SHEIN and fast fashion entirely is horribly unethical.

If SHEIN continues to become a bigger and bigger in Canada we face more pollution from the low quality clothing, accessories, makeup, etc sold on SHEIN. Not to mention the promotion and continuing growth of overconsumption with will without a doubt lead to more pollution not just in Canada but globally, and inevitably increase climate change & global warming.

We absolutely need to act on banning SHEIN now because it is truly a horrible thing to have in this world, it's beyond unethical for human rights and for the environment. Banning SHEIN will not solve these overconsumption, pollution, and human right violations, but it will absolutely be a step in the right direction, and maybe other countries could follow in our steps.
