BAN SAN ANTONIO HORSE CARRIAGES! READ FULL POST.

The City of San Antonio allows these horses to work up until 95-degree weather, this is extremely hot weather for these animals to be pulling 1,000-pound carriages full of people, up to 14 people to be exact. If it is too hot for you to walk then it is too hot for them to work! The city also allows the horses to work from 9am-4pm and 6pm-2am on weekdays, and 10am-2am on weekends. Downtown San Antonio already has a lot of traffic, between cars, pedestrians, bikes, and scooters, having horse carriages adds another greater traffic risk and slows people down. A San Antonio resident reports she was once hit by a horse while she was riding her bike, another San Antonio resident also reports seeing a horse pass out from a heat stroke when she was working downtown.

Due to non-disclosure agreements signed by the horse carriage drivers they are unable to report the abuse that happens to these animals.

City of San Antonio Animal Care Services: ACS warns the horse carriage companies on when they are coming, at this time the managers and employees hide the horse's sores and injuries. They also falsify turn out records, meaning they say the horses had time off to go back to the ranch when in reality they never get any breaks. Insider reports that they know of 4 horses who have not gone to the ranch in over a year! Those 4 horses are "easy to drive" according to management, so they never get a break. ACS needs to revoke the carriage's permits and quit warning these companies and drivers when they will be arriving for inspections.

The carriage companies report they take good care of the horses but an insider reported that they have open sores and are not given time to heal. One of their horses had a swollen sheath and couldn't control his bladder, the horse was also in a lot of pain. Even though the horse was clearly sick the manager ignored it and waited over 5 months to take the horse to a vet, when the horse was finally taken to the vet it was too late. The horse had a kidney stone the size of a basketball, which was too large to remove and the horse had to be put down to sleep.

ACS We urge you to help shut these horse carriages down! Click the link to help report this abuse.
