We are a group of year 13 students at St Mary's College Ponsonby, that are incredibly passionate about banning rodeos through New Zealand. We want to influence the animal welfare act 1999 No 142 by introducing a clause to ban rodeos nationwide. We're doing this because we believe that animal rights should be protected, especially cows and bulls as they are a core part of our primary industry. Rodeos are contradicting the animal welfare act because cows and bulls are subject to horrific treatment such as electric pods and spurs to be forced to perform. This treatment is harming the animals well-being and not respect there animal rights.
