Rodeos are causing harm and posing threats to both animals and participants alike, necessitating a more thorough look into their ethical implications. In these events, animals often experience severe injuries due to the physically demanding nature of the sports and the use of potentially harmful equipment. It's been recorded that many livestock involved in rodeos suffer from trauma, injuries, and even fatality. Simultaneously, the safety of the participants involved cannot be ignored. Especially in the bustle and uproar of a toss or a kick, the dangers become increasingly severe. As inhabitants of Aotearoa it's our responsibility to uphold ethical treatment towards all beings and ensure our entertainment does not come at a price unnecessarily paid by animals.
