My name and the names of many others in our community are smeared because of the harmful actions of Rebecca Wall. She not only lies about our elders but also assumes an entitled attitude towards our sacred practices. While claiming to be adopted into our community, she disrespectfully interferes with the way our lodge keepers conduct their duties, a behavior we, the natives, find offensive. We all know that everyone has their unique way of running sweats, and it is not our place, especially someone like Wall's, to challenge that.

Further, Wall has overstepped her boundaries immensely. She is supposed to be witnessing our culture from the inside, not trying to exercise authority over it. This is our culture. Aside from this overbearing behavior, Wall has also been disrespectful to the sanctity of our scared spaces, sharing stories outside of the lodge that should have remained within its walls. This is a direct violation of the age-old practices of our Mikmaq community because what is said in sacred spaces is supposed to stay there.

Hence we demand that she be banned from our community to prevent further harm to our people and our traditions.
