In the meantime, countless affectionate and adoptable animals remain in shelters, hoping for families. By encouraging adoption, we can offer these animals a new opportunity and lessen the demand that drives the puppy mill business. 

We request: 

*The execution and application of laws to prohibit puppy mills across the country. 

*Tighter controls and supervision of pet breeding activities. 

*Enhanced financial aid and assistance for animal shelters and rescue groups. 

*Public awareness initiatives promoting adoption over shopping.
