This petition is to ban the use of fireworks by the public. Allowing only fireworks displays and only on November 5th. 
Fireworks cause an immense amount of stress on animals. Every year, dozens of reports of animals injuring themselves attempting to escape or running in fear. Many animals each year are even euthanised because of injuries they sustained during fireworks. 
Therefore, public use of fireworks should be banned in New Zealand and only allowed as public displays one night per year. Fireworks can be hazardous, not only harming animals but causing fires if use incorrectly. 
The ONLY exception would be sparklers, as they are quiet and safer.
