As an animal lover and caretaker, I've witnessed the fear and distress experienced by animals during the frequent, unexpected use of fireworks. It's heartbreaking to see how these glimmers of joy for some can become torment for innocent creatures. Fireworks, when in the wrong hands, can injure and kill animals. They cause drastic changes in noise and light conditions, leading to severe stress and terror among both pets and wildlife.

Fireworks are not only hazardous for animals but can potentially lead to injuries among users and bystanders. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), an average of 180 people go to the emergency room every year due to firework-related injuries.

Limiting the use of fireworks to specific celebrations such as Bonfire Night and New Year's Eve, and banning their private sale would help protect animals from unnecessary distress, reduce risk to public safety, and still allow for joyous celebration during these significant events.
